Following sent to Peking No.162. begins:
My telegram No.152.
Chiang Kai Shek and Tang Sheng Chih both arrived
at Wuchang this morning by aeroplane: former I am told
will stay here. ara promised an interview with him in
a day or two.
Labour Union activities threaten to paralyce trade:
foreign and Chinese factories rapidly closing down;
pickets very active and well organized. I am told that
Chiang Kai Shek will deal with these organisations as
soon as he feels the military position in Kiang-si
secure and I intend to take up this question when I
see him.
If the question of recognition is raised should
I be justified in saying that it is engaging serious
consideration of His Majesty's Government and tint
doubtless the new Minister will have instructions
thereanent. This might help matters here a great deal:
situation at present is very tense and even critical.
